Professional And The Best Eyes In The Business

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful
We saw more in one week on safari with Tanzania Travel Company than we did in the 6 weeks preceding on a truck tour from Cape Town to Arusha. We ended our 6 week tour there are were picked up the next morning by John Timothy (the best eyes in the business) as our guide (I would give him 10 stars) and Mr. Anthony our cook in their jammed to the gills Toyota Landcruiser. Food, beds, tents, everything we needed for a week in the bush.

We had contacted Tanzania Travel Company and received detailed, thoughtful personal info and advice from Sam Diah at TTC: very nice to set up the tour at a distance from our home on the west coast of the USA. Our "special needs" after 6 weeks of travel was for as much consideration for a limited budget as possible. We got a very good rate and saw tons of animals, gorgeous sunsets and 3 national parks plus Ngorogoro, the national conservation area.

You can see the pix of our Tanzania Travel Company trip on Flickr at http://www.flickr.com/photos/35742767@N04/sets/72157623449147604/ and read about our trip at the Wordpress blog at http://terrydarc.wordpress.com/

First we went to Tarangire, had lunch and spent the night in absolute luxury at Endoro Lodge in Karatu. Off to Serengeti for 3 days passing over Ngorogoro without stopping. Fantastic place and John, our guide, really, really shone here. He could see things the other guides could not and knew his stuff: where to find animals and what the animals are birds were.

Then after 3 wonderful days in Serengeti we went to Ngorogoro Crater and saw about half of the rhino herd plus lions, cheetahs, gnus, and a host of antelope. Special treat was seeing two servals (you can see pix on Flickr) plus getting close enough to the black rhino to get really nice, daytime shots (pictures, that is).

John explained about Masai culture along the way and we finished up at Lake Manyara National Park - very, very nice bird life. Wound up going back to Arusha, tired but very happy.

We were tended to during the 6 days extremely well and thoughtfully by John and Mr. Anthony. Nothing and no detail was missed. We got a super bonus of stopping at Olduvai/Oldupai Gorge Museum - a pilgrimage site for me, the amateur naturalist.

Highest recommendations for Tanzania Travel Company.

A successful Tanzanian adventure!

2 of 4 people found the following review helpful
Never having been to Tanzania nor having experienced a safari before, my expectations were uncertain. What would it be like? Would we see elephants? Would we be taken care of my the safari company? Would I feel 'safe'? The safety aspect was of the utmost importance as my colleagues and I were to travel down to Tanzania to test the trip as we are going to bring/send students down there.

It turned out that the safari trip surpassed all expectations I could have had. Not only did we see elephants, the Tanzania Travel Company also proved to be extremely professional and friendly in their work. Indeed, the guides and other staff went out of their way to make sure we had a fun and educational time. The Tanzanian people, as represented by the safari company, are a very kind, friendly and generous people.

I would highly recommend this company for anyone seeking a fun, educational and 'safe' adventure!

Service and standard

2 of 2 people found the following review helpful
I have as a teacher used Tanzania Travel Company sevral times during a period of four years with groups of 17 to 20 swedish students on various projects in Tanzania. I have worked with such projects for about seven years and I have tried most of the companies up in north and south. Handling students between 18 - 20 years old in big groups, satisfying all needs including good service and food is not easy to find. When I found Tanzania Travel Company four years ago, I didnt need to look any further.

The service, security, care and respect that my students, including myself, have been treated with these years can not be described by any other word than - excellent! All the employes are trated like family members and that you can tell by thier positive attitude, engaging service and full security.

I will be back in Tanzania with more groups this year. We are looking forward to meet you guys again.

Best regards,

Daniel
