NCAA TRANSITIONS TO SAFARI PORTAL V2 REVENUE SYSTEM

Ngorongoro, Arusha – 23 May 2025

The Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority (NCAA) is pleased to officially announce the transition to a newly enhanced revenue collection and management platform—SAFARI PORTAL V2. This digital transformation marks a significant milestone in NCAA’s continued efforts to streamline operations, improve service delivery, and ensure greater accountability within the tourism ecosystem.

Effective May 31, 2025, the existing Safari Portal system will be phased out, and the SAFARI PORTAL V2 will be fully operational for all client interactions and transactions. The updated system introduces a more efficient, secure, and transparent framework for managing all tourism-related revenue collection processes within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

Why the Change to SAFARI PORTAL V2?

The adoption of SAFARI PORTAL V2 is part of NCAA’s broader digital transformation strategy aimed at aligning with national goals of e-governance, improving tourism business compliance, and enhancing the overall visitor experience. The new system will:

  • Improve data accuracy and synchronization with key regulatory bodies.
  • Streamline payment and permit processes for tour operators.
  • Ensure that only fully licensed vehicles and companies are authorized for operation within protected areas.
  • Enhance accountability and traceability in revenue collection.

Mandatory Customer Action Required by May 28, 2025

To ensure a smooth migration to the SAFARI PORTAL V2, all customers and stakeholders must complete the following essential steps on or before May 28, 2025:

1. Verify TTLB License Details

All tourism companies must confirm their Tanzania Tourism Business Licence (TTLB) information with the Tourism Division (TALA). Inaccurate or outdated TTLB details may affect access to the new system.

2. Ensure Vehicle Compliance

Only vehicles that are fully registered in the MNRT Portal and comply with TTLB regulations will be eligible for use in the SAFARI PORTAL V2. All tour operators must ensure that their fleets meet these criteria, as the new system will automatically deny access to vehicles without valid licensing.

3. Validate Company Information on the MNRT Portal

Review and update the following information to ensure consistency across government platforms:

  • Official office address
  • Valid and active company email address
  • Telephone contact numbers
  • Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN)
  • VAT Registration Number (VRN)

Any discrepancies may delay your ability to operate smoothly within the SAFARI PORTAL V2 environment.

Benefits of SAFARI PORTAL V2 to the Tourism Sector

The rollout of SAFARI PORTAL V2 is a forward-thinking measure designed to bring significant improvements to how tourism operations are managed in Tanzania’s conservation areas, particularly in Ngorongoro. Some of the key benefits include:

  • Real-time Data Access: Tour operators will have better access to permit statuses, vehicle validations, and park usage records.
  • Reduced Administrative Burden: The system consolidates various verification processes into a single portal.
  • Stronger Compliance Monitoring: With automated license validations and integration with MNRT and TALA, only compliant companies will gain access.
  • User-Friendly Interface: The SAFARI PORTAL V2 features a modern, intuitive interface designed for easy navigation by both new and experienced users.
