About the lodge

Ndutu Safari Lodge is situated in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area in the southern Serengeti eco-system. The lodge nestles under a canopy of giant acacias overlooking a soda lake, Lake Ndutu.

The Lodge consists of 34 stone cottages that extend from the central, open-sided bar, lounge and dining room.

Each room has its own verandah that overlooks Lake Ndutu. All rooms have en-suite facilities.

Ndutu Lodge offers a superb base to explore the Serengeti landscape. All different ranges of habitats are within easy reach. This includes swamps, woodlands, soda lakes and the world famous Serengeti short grass plains.

If you are looking for a real African bush experience and a friendly atmosphere you should come and visit us.

Ndutu Safari Lodge has been a favorite with professional wildlife photographers and filmmakers for the past four decades, because its simply one of the places to watch wildlife.

Highlights & attractions

Ndutu is the resting area for thousands of wildebeest and zebras during the wet season from December up to May. Every year these animals make a long journey though the Serengeti and Masai Mara, searching for fresh grass and water.

This world event, also known as the Migration, is the reason for many visitors to explore this part of the world.

From June through November, the plains are dry and the great herds are gone. This is the time when the resident animals converge around Ndutu’s waterholes and marshes – elephants, giraffes, impalas, every kind of cat and a profusion of birds.

Wet season or dry, there’s lots to see, and you’ll never feel just one of a herd.
