Great News for Tanzania’s Tour Guides: License Fees Reduced

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism has announced significant revisions to the Tourism Fees and Charges Regulations 2024, bringing a major boost to Tanzania’s tour guides. Effective January 24, 2025, the Tour Guide License Fee has been significantly reduced from US$50 to TZS 35,000. Additionally, the license will now be renewable annually, making the process more efficient and affordable.

A Positive Step for Tour Guides and the Industry

The reduction in fees is expected to encourage more tour guides to obtain formal licenses, promoting professionalism and improving service delivery in the tourism sector. By lowering financial barriers, the government aims to enhance compliance while ensuring that more individuals can access legal recognition in their profession.

Ensuring well-trained, professional tour guides is key to enhancing the visitor experience and maintaining Tanzania’s reputation as an unforgettable travel destination.
