Temporary Closure of Seronera Airstrip for Maintenance: February 8–12, 2025

The Tanzania National Parks Authority (TANAPA) has officially announced the temporary closure of Seronera Airstrip (HTSN), located in the heart of Serengeti National Park, for essential maintenance. The closure will commence on February 8, 2025, and continue until February 12, 2025, at 18:00 local time.

Impact on Travel Plans

During this 5-day period, no flights will be permitted to land or take off from Seronera Airstrip. TANAPA advises all stakeholders, including tour operators, safari companies, and travelers, to make necessary alternative arrangements to avoid disruptions to their itineraries.

Alternative Airstrips Available

Despite this temporary closure, Serengeti National Park’s six other airstrips will remain fully operational, ensuring that safari activities continue smoothly across the park. Tour operators are encouraged to utilize these facilities to maintain uninterrupted access to Tanzania’s premier wildlife destination.
